After the state reported an average of 180 new coronavirus (COVID-19) cases per day for the last seven days, on Tuesday, Gov. Andy Beshear announced 315 new cases of the virus have been confirmed in Kentucky over the previous 24 hours.

The new cases increase to 14,141 the number of COVID-19 cases in the commonwealth.

Beshear also reported 11 new deaths Tuesday, raising the total to 537 (3.8 percent fatality rate) Kentuckians lost to the virus.

The deaths reported Tuesday include a 52-year-old woman from Allen County; three women, ages 77, 77 and 91, and a 90-year-old man from Clark County; a 78-year-old woman from Fayette County; an 84-year-old woman from Graves County; a 46-year-old woman from Harlan County; a 67-year-old man from Jefferson County; a 106-year-old man from Logan County; and a 77-year-old woman from Shelby County.

According to the Grayson County Health Department, one of the previously reported Grayson County COVID-19 deaths has been ruled a non-coronavirus death, lowering Grayson County’s death toll to 10.

Officials said 2,556 (18.1 percent) patients have been hospitalized since the beginning of the pandemic, with 376 victims currently in a hospital. To date, 988 (7 percent) people have been treated in ICU, with 70 patients currently in intensive care.

At least 3,591 (25.4 percent) victims have recovered from the virus, and 363,027 (8.3 percent of the population) tests have been administered in the Kentucky.
