A Central City man has died after a Thursday crash on the Western Kentucky Parkway.
The Ohio County Sheriff’s Office, Beaver Dam Fire Department, and Ohio County EMS responded to a two-vehicle collision at the 71-mile marker of the parkway in Ohio County.
In a release, officials say that both vehicles appeared to have been traveling eastbound in the right lane before the accident.
Witnesses told police that “unit #1” attempted to turn left to use the emergency turn-around located in the median. When this happened, a second vehicle collided with the first.
Sheriff Tracy Beatty said that the driver of the first vehicle, Wayne Young, 33, of Central City, was pronounced deceased a short time after. A passenger in Young’s vehicle was treated at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver and passenger of the second vehicle were transported to the Ohio County Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
The accident remains under investigation by the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office.
