Meade County judge-executive dies at 68

Meade County’s judge-executive passed away Sunday morning.

Judge-Executive Gerry Lynn, 68, died Sunday morning at his Brandenburg home surrounded by his family, according to Lynn’s obituary.

He served as judge-executive since 2010 and was a state representative from 2004 until 2006. Lynn was a Republican.

His death was announced on the Meade County Fiscal Court Facebook page:

“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Meade County Judge-Executive Gerry Lynn. Judge Lynn’s passing is a terrible loss not only for his family and friends, but also for Meade County. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his wife, Nancye, and the rest of the family. He will be greatly missed.’’

In an Executive Order, Meade County Deputy Judge-Executive requested flags in the county be lowered to half-staff from Tuesday until Saturday at sunset.
