The Grayson County Health Department (GCHD) has released a coronavirus (COVID-19) update.

The health department said Thursday night that 22 new cases of the virus have been confirmed in the county since the department’s last update on Tuesday. The new cases increase Grayson County’s COVID-19 victim count to 412 since the onset of the pandemic.

Health officials said 32 people are “isolated,” indicating a positive test, with two victims in critical care units.

The GCHD said 364 patients have recovered from the virus.

The county now has had 167 cases of the virus diagnosed since August 25 (5.6 per day).

No new deaths were reported on Thursday by the health department, but K105 reported late Thursday afternoon that an eight-month-old Caneyville baby died early Sunday morning of coronavirus.

According to the GCHD, the county officially has had 16 COVID-19-related deaths, as one Grayson County death previously believed to be due to the virus has been deemed unrelated to COVID-19 by a “state review team.”
