At Tuesday’s Grayson County Fiscal Court meeting, magistrates approved the purchase of a Dual-View Full Body Security Screening System for the Grayson County Detention Center.
The all-encompassing equipment costs $166,250, and includes the screening system, automatic narcotics detection software, work table, and x-ray shielding cabin. The purchase price additionally includes installation and calibration of the equipment, operator and administrator training, a 24-month warranty and extended warranty, and bi-annual service contract.
The system is being paid for with proceeds from the Grayson County Detention Center.
Optional Fire & Rescue Dues
Sheriff Norman Chaffins, to limit foot traffic inside the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office, asked magistrates to approve making an “electronic copy” of the optional $40 Fire & Rescue dues form available to citizens online.
Property owners will be able to print off a copy of the form and mail it to the sheriff’s office instead of physically taking the form to the office. Having the form available online will also help out-of-town property owners submit the optional payment or opt-out form(s) via mail.
Magistrates unanimously agreed to the sheriff’s proposal.
