“Our number of hospitalized people goes up every day,” Beshear lamented. “These are a lot of Kentuckians who are fighting for their lives. Let’s keep lighting our homes up green. There’s a lot of pain out there and it’s hitting everybody. We’re thinking of every family, whether we know you or we don’t. We hurt with you and we grieve with you.”

In total, 7,447 (6.6 percent) people have been admitted to a hospital, with 1,815 (1.6 percent) patients treated in ICUs.

At least 19,667 (17.4 percent) Kentuckians have recovered from the virus, and 2,136,109 COVID-19 tests have been administered in the state.
