The surge in coronavirus cases at Grayson Nursing & Rehabilitation (GNR) continues as five new cases have been confirmed over the last three days.

Since November 15, the facility has reported 22 cases of the virus, and currently has 20 active cases: 12 residents and eight staff members, according to the Kentucky Department for Public Health (KDPH).

The five new cases at GNR are staff members of the facility, according to the KDPH.

In line with the surge of cases striking Grayson County and all the commonwealth since the beginning of November, as of November 4, GNR has had 29 cases of the virus confirmed within the facility.

One new COVID-19 death among the facilities residents has been reported, increasing the total to nine virus-related deaths arising from Grayson Nursing & Rehab.

Since March, GNR has had 98 people associated with the facility — 59 residents, 39 staff — test positive for coronavirus.

Grayson County’s other nursing home, Spring View Nursing & Rehabilitation, has had a total of 43 cases arise from the long-term care facility, and currently has one active case among residents and one active staff member case.
