Only two days after a Christmas morning explosion rocked downtown Nashville, a Marshall County FiveStar convenience store employee has been arrested after calling in a bomb threat to the store.

Amber Carr, 21, of Paducah, is facing felony charges after leaving threatening messages on Sunday with an employee of the Draffenville FiveStar, where Carr also works.

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office said, “The messages stated that they were going to blow up the business.”

The sheriff’s office requested assistance from Kentucky State Police “bomb investigative units” to conduct a thorough search of the business. No bombs or other incendiary devices were found.

The sheriff’s office stated that during the investigation, it was determined that Carr sent the threatening messages, with her coworker telling authorities that the messages were intended to be a prank.

Carr was charged with felony wanton endangerment, second-degree terroristic threatening, harassing communications, and second-degree disorderly conduct.

Draffenville is a small community about five miles north of Benton, and is home to Marshall County High School, the site of a deadly school shooting in January 2018.
