58 new COVID cases in Grayson Co. GC averaging 15.1 new cases per day last eight days.

The Grayson County Health Department (GCHD) has released a coronavirus update.

GCHD Director Josh Embry said Monday that 58 new cases of the virus have been confirmed since the agency’s last update on Thursday.

Grayson County has now had 380 COVID-19 cases diagnosed over the last 30 days, 12.7 per day, and 121 cases over the last eight days, 15.1 cases per day.

The new cases increase the county’s COVID-19 victim count to 1,476 (about one case per 18.3 Grayson County residents).

No new deaths were reported, leaving the county’s death toll to 40.

The health department said there are 139 active cases in the county, a decrease of 12 active cases since Thursday.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 1,297 (87.9 percent) Grayson County residents have recovered from the virus.
