Nearly 10 new COVID cases within Grayson Co. School District

There are nearly 10 new COVID-19 cases within the Grayson County School District.

Last week, district officials said eight new cases of the virus were diagnosed. The new cases include: Two virtual learning students; one staff member and one student at Grayson County Middle School; one student at Grayson County High School; one student at Clarkson Elementary School; one student at Wilkey Elementary School; and one district employee.

According to the district’s COVID-19 Dashboard, as of Friday, there were 16 active cases within the district: Two staff members at Caneyville Elementary School; one student and one staff member at Clarkson; one student at Lawler Elementary School; two students at Wilkey; one student and two staff members at the middle school; one student and one staff member at the high school; three virtual students; and one district staff member.

Also as of Friday, 113 students/staff are quarantined due to either school-related contacts (21) or household/close contacts (92).
