A Clarkson man has been tased and arrested after fleeing from Clarkson police in a vehicle and on foot.

Friday night at approximately 11:00, Clarkson Police Officer Blake Elmore was patrolling on Millerstown Street when he observed a 2009 Chevrolet Impala traveling west at 55 miles per hour in a 35 mph zone as the vehicle entered the Clarkson city limits.

Elmore attempted to conduct a traffic stop but the vehicle failed to comply as the driver, 34-year-old Justin K. Srygler, fled onto Vanmeter Street and pulled into and parked in a driveway of a mobile home. Srygler then fled Elmore and Constable Bill Dalton on foot, with Elmore deploying his taser, bringing the foot chase to an end as the suspect continued to resist.

Srygler was arrested and charged with two counts of fleeing or evading police (in a motor vehicle, on foot), resisting arrest, menacing, speeding 20 mph or more over the limit, no operators license, failure to maintain insurance, and failure to produce an insurance card.

He was lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center but is no longer listed as an inmate. There were two other subjects in the vehicle but they did not attempt to flee once the vehicle came to a stop.

Assisting Elmore and Dalton at the scene were Grayson County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Zane Greer and Deputies Rick Mehlbauer and Sean Fentress.
