2,443 new COVID cases in KY, 32 deaths. Intensive care admissions up 36 patients.

Gov. Andy Beshear on Tuesday announced 2,443 coronavirus cases were confirmed in Kentucky over the previous 24 hours.

The new cases increase the state’s COVID-19 victim count to 366,938 (about one case per 12 Kentucky residents).

Officials reported 32 deaths, raising the death toll to 3,812 (one percent fatality rate). The state has now had 751 COVID-19 deaths over the last 18 days, an average of 41.7 per day.

The rolling seven-day positivity rate dropped from Monday’s 8.85 percent to 8.83 percent on Tuesday.

Hospitalizations increased by 19 patients to 1,335, while intensive care patients rose by 36 people to 373. Victims on ventilators fell by six to 172.

Since the onset of the pandemic, 16,814 (4.6 percent) people have been hospitalized, with 3,584 (one percent) patients treated in intensive care.

At least 43,714 (12 percent) Kentuckians have recovered from the virus, and over four million COVID-19 tests have been administered in the state.
