Seniors Ella Robinson and Rachael Snyder both had double-double nights Thursday at Hancock County and the Lady Cougars won their 10th game of the season, 50-45 over the Lady Hornets.

Robinson scored 20 points and grabbed 19 rebounds for the Lady Cougars, while Snyder scored 16 and pulled down 11 boards.

Free throws by Alex Kratzer and Haven Riley gave the Lady Hornets an early 2-0 lead, but the Lady Cougars responded with eight unanswered points to take a lead they would not give back. Grayson County led by eight points, 12-4, heading into the second period.

A lay-in by Emma Morris at the 4:13 mark of the second period drew the Lady Hornets to within a point of the lead, 16-15, but that would be as close as they would come to the lead. Grayson County led by 10 points, 30-20 at the half.

Hancock opened the third period with a 7-0 run to cut the Grayson lead to just three points, 30-27 with 6:05 left but the Lady Cougars led by four, 36-32 at the end of the period.

The Lady Hornets put together a 7-0 run to pull to within two points of the lead, 47-45 with 1:09 remaining to be played, but the Lady Cougars scored the final three points to take the game by five.

Poole led the Lady Hornets with 15 points.

In addition to her double-double, Snyder dished out three assists and led the team with five steals. Sophomore Aryssa Riggs scored five points for the Lady Cougars, and junior Raigan Cave had four.

Freshman Sydney Perkins got her first varsity start in this one and finished with three points. Sophomore Annie Kiper closed out the Lady Cougar scoring with two points.
