A father has been charged with killing his seven-week-old daughter.
Del’Shawn Banks, 23, of Louisville, was arrested Monday and charged with domestic violence murder in the death of his daughter. Banks is accused of shaking the baby and “throwing her to the ground,” according to media reports.
Banks was arrested after the baby was taken to Norton Children’s Medical Group on Poplar Level Road the evening of June 17. Law enforcement was notified and arrived to find the baby unresponsive despite life-saving measures being taken by the medical staff.
The baby was then transported to Norton Children’s Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Banks is being held in Louisville Metro Corrections on a $250,000 cash bond.
