The Grayson County Health Department (GCHD) on Thursday said nearly 100 new COVID-19 cases have been reported over the last eight days.

The health department announced 94 new cases have been diagnosed since the agency’s last update on September 8. The new cases give Grayson County 4,097 cases since the beginning of the pandemic.

The GCHD said there are 427 active COVID cases in the county, with 25 patients hospitalized.

There have been 81 reported COVID-related deaths, with 68 verified deaths.

The county’s incident rate fell from 156.8 on Wednesday to 121.6 on Thursday, nearly five times the number of cases over the last seven days to have a “critical spread” of the virus, according to the Kentucky Department for Public Health (KDPH).
