Kentucky State Police is investigating an officer involved shooting in Gallatin County.
The shooting occurred Saturday morning at approximately 4:30 when an unidentified male “fired in the direction of several officers” on Montgomery Road, according to the sheriff’s office. Deputies returned fire, striking the suspect, who was later pronounced dead at Carroll County Memorial Hospital.
The name of the suspect and the deputies involved in the shooting have not been released.
The Kentucky State Police investigation continues.
