Lila Dennis Roof, 84 of Elizabethtown, died Monday, November 1, 2021 at Kensington Manor.
She was a native of Hardin Springs, KY and a member of Hudson Community Church since 1978. She loved singing and helped form the Hudson Gospel Five for 14 years then formed the Gospel Travelers for 17 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Christopher Speers; her parents, Riley and Sudie Mae Dupin Dennis; brothers, Russell, George, Louie, Emmert, Rubert and Vernon Dennis and sisters, Goldie Miller, Edna Marie Miller, Jewell Miller, Gertie Eanes, Geneva Raymer and Shirline Gales.
Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Everett “Buster” Roof; three daughters, Sheila (Jimmy) Speers, Kim (David) Hunt and Nancy (Billy) Hatfield; seven grandchildren, Brandon Speers, Stephanie Speers, Rebecca (Matthew) Miranda, Bradley (Aimee) Hunt, Elizabeth (Dennis) Christensen, Joshua (Rachael) Aubrey and Holly Hatfield and great grandchildren, Riley, Camden and Connor Christensen, Audrey and Ella Hunt, Jackson, Colin and Vivian Miranda, Andrew, Kaylee and Ryker Speers and Brooklyn and Addy Aubrey.
The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. EST at Hudson Community Church with Rev. Jimmy Tucker and Rev. Jim McIntosh officiating. Burial will follow in Hudson Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. EST Thursday and continue from 11 to 2 p.m. EST Friday at Hudson Community Church.
