A Hartford man on the run since 2019 has been arrested in Ohio County with a significant amount of methamphetamine and pills.

Ohio County Sheriff Tracy Beatty said that Monday night at approximately 11:00, police arrested 46-year-old Terry L. Chanley on multiple warrants. Chanley walked away from a halfway house in Louisville on June 22, 2019.

Acting on a tip, deputies, Kentucky State Police and Pennyrile Drug Task Force personnel arrived at a residence in the 100 block of Mapleleaf Drive, about six miles north of Hartford. Chanley, police said, was taken into custody without incident as he exited a vehicle.

During a search of Chanley and the property, authorities located two handguns, “a large quantity of methamphetamine, a large quantity of marijuana, a large quantity of Xanax pills, and several items of drug paraphernalia,” Beatty said.

He was charged with two counts of trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine, Xanax), two counts of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine, Xanax), possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, trafficking in marijuana, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was also served with a warrant charging him of second-degree escape, along with other warrants.

Chanley was lodged into the Ohio County Detention Center.
