Vehicle wrecks in Elizabethtown, both occupants had been shot

The Elizabethtown Police Department is investigating a shooting after two men were involved in a car accident.

Friday morning at approximately 2:30, police responded to the crash in the 200 block of South Mulberry Street and found an eastbound Ford Explorer had left the roadway and struck a utility pole before striking Vineyard Christian Fellowship Church, according to a report by The News-Enterprise.

Police quickly discovered the two adult men inside the vehicle were suffering from gunshot wounds. Investigators believe the two men were shot at another location.

Both victims, whose identities have not yet been released, were transported to University of Louisville Hospital. The newspaper reports the victims are in stable condition.

The investigation continues as police are requesting anyone with information on this incident to contact Elizabethtown police at 270-765-4125.
