HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Three men have pleaded not guilty to having roles in the slayings of two women at a southwestern Kentucky massage parlor that police say served as a front for a brothel in Oak Grove.
The Kentucky New Era reported (http://bit.ly/1a8yuSu ) that 43-year-old Edward Carter of Mason, Ohio and 39-year-old Frank Black Jr., of Gadsden, Ala., made their initial appearances Wednesday on two charges of murder via video conference from the Christian County Jail. The third man, 50-year-old Leslie Duncan of Hopkinsville, is charged with two counts of complicity to murder.
The charges stem from deaths of 22-year-old Candida Belt and 18-year-old Gloria Ross in September 1994 at the New Life Fitness and Massage Parlor.
Carter, Black and Duncan are being held in the Christian County Jail on $1 million bonds.
