A Very Charitable Chirstmas
Grayson County children got to “Shop with a Fireman” Saturday, Dec. 15th at a local retail store in Leitchfield.  Leitchfield Fire Chief Carl “Moon” Smith said 10 children were given the opportunity to shop.  Local donated funds paid for the adventure.  Friday night other children were able to shop with Knights of Columbus members and on Saturday, Dec. 22nd more children will get to shop with Veterans from the American Legion Post #81 in Leitchfield.  Grayson County Operation Christmas has helped 687 children have Christmas this holiday season.  Tracy Dennison, Director of GCOC, said the sponsors this year were easier to secure and she even had an industry located in Hardin County call and offer sponsorship money – stating they have Grayson County employees and wanted to give back on their behalf.  Dennison said she has been overwhelmed with the charitable hearts of Grayson County each year that she has been involved with the program.  Two volunteers work to “bag & tag” gifts as part of the Angel Tree Ministry.
