Grayson County High School FFA and HOSA chapters recently teamed up to host Farm Safety Day. The clubs set up a variety of health, safety and information stations with hands-on demonstrations to educate students and staff on the importance of farm safety as the planting season begins. A variety of farm and lawn machinery was on display. Members of the Leitchfield Fire Department, EMS and Air Methods emergency flight helicopter were also on hand to talk with students about their and their jobs.
The HOSA Medical Reserve Corp got to talk with the Air Methods Crew about careers. Shown l- r are Team members Shelbi Arnold, Lisa Duvall, Bethany Harting and Emily Logsdon (not picture Isaac Logsdon), along with Tiffany Horn and Karrie Davis. During the event the MRC also demonstrated important maneuvers for emergency situations. Farm Safety Day is part of the competitive project they will present at their National Conference in June.
Not quite a glass slipper, but fit and placement are important. FFA members were eager to talk tractor safety with passersby.
