University of Kentucky Fruit & Vegetable Specialist, Dr. John Strang, will be teaching a workshop on the production of Raspberries & Blackberries at the Grayson County Extension Office on Saturday, March 20th from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Topics include site selection, varieties, propagation, planting, pollination, fertilization, soil management, weed control, pruning & training, cane removal, harvest, marketing, diseases, & insects & mites.
The cost to attend the seminar is $8.00, and participates will receive an information packet that includes a copy of Dr. Strang’s publication, “Growing Blackberries & Raspberries in Kentucky.” Advanced registration and payment are required, and can be done by mail or at the Extension Office. Checks should be made payable to the Master Gardener Association. Please park in the rear of the building and enter through the West Entrance door. Refreshments will be served at intermission.
