Camps Underway at GCMS
(Leitchfield, KY) – A season of camps kicked off this week at the Grayson County Middle School as grade school aged students are spending the week at Camp Invention.  The campers get the chance to create and explore the idea of inventing anything their imaginations will allow them to create.  The students have several rooms full of products to choose from as the material for their master pieces.

Just down the hallway are approximately 30 middle school aged students getting the chance to explore their future this summer by speaking with multiple colleges and leaning about the programs the individual schools offer.  The students are also working on several other projects that will incorporate upgrades to the local city parks.

On the front lawn of the middle school several Cougar Zone campers, mixed with high school art students, are painting plaster cougars, transforming them into Growlapalooza Cougars that can be sold and designed for a specific business.  The small cougars are $50, the medium size $150 and the large cougars are $500.  If you have a business that would like to purchase a Growlapalooza, you a can stop by the middle school and purchase a cougar.

Middle school aged students who are interested in the Cougar Zone camps can still sign up.  The camps are free and are from 7:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. each day.  You can fill out a form at the middle school office.  The camps will continue from Tuesday – Thursday for the first three weeks of June.
