Falls Of Rough Man Killed In Two-Vehicle Crash In Grayson County



(Caneyville, KY) – A head-on collision near Caneyville Tuesday morning left one patient fatally wounded and another seriously injured.
 
The Grayson County Sheriff’s Department responded to the accident that occurred on Ready-Jackson Road, off of Hwy 185.  The accident happened at 7:50 a.m. Tuesday morning.
 
Sheriff Chief Deputy Tony Willen said the scene was handed over to Kentucky State Police Reconstructionist Norman Chaffins.
 
Trooper Chaffins said in a press release that a 2004 Honda Civic driven by Steven M. Puckett (27 of Falls of Rough) was eastbound on Ready Jackson Road and approaching a small hill near the 1800 block. 
 
A 2006 Pontiac G6 being operated by Danielle L. Preston (25 of Caneyville) was westbound on Ready Jackson Road also approaching the small hill. 
 
As both vehicles topped the hill they met in the center of the roadway and struck one another head-on. 
 
The Civic came to final rest in a ditch on the eastbound side while the G6 came to final rest in the ditch on the westbound side.  
 
Puckett was killed instantly in the collision.  He was not wearing a seatbelt. 
 
Preston suffered injuries to her lower extremities and was transported to The Medical Center in Bowling Green by the Grayson County EMS. 
 
Tpr. Norman Chaffins is investigating the crash.  He was assisted by the Caneyville Fire Department and the Grayson County Sheriff’s Department.
