(Leitchfield, KY) – Leitchfield Police Officers arrested three people over the weekend and are searching for a hit and run suspect.
Friday, June 7, 2013, just before 10:00 p.m., the LPD responded to a reported stabbing at a residence on Orchard Street in Leitchfield. The victim, Steven Carnes, was transported by Grayson County EMS to Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield for treatment of a non-life threatening injury. Joseph B. Jae (28) of Leitchfield was arrested and charged with Assault, 1st Degree. He was transported to the Grayson County Detention Center. The investigation in ongoing and additional charges may be pending, according to Detective Kevin Smith.
Two out-of-town women were arrested for fighting Saturday after officers responded to Mi Camino Real restaurant. When officers arrived they observed two subjects in a physical altercation. Janeen Decker (31) of Fordsville, KY and Lisa M. Baxley (48) of Dundee, KY were both arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct, 1st Degree. They were both transported to the Grayson County Detention Center.
A hit and run accident Sunday afternoon around 3:00 p.m. left a man seriously injured. Officers responded to Marion Street where they located Larry Portman (34) lying on the ground with injuries after being struck by a vehicle. He was transported by Grayson County EMS to the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center and later transferred to University Hospital in Louisville. The Leitchfield Police Department has identified a suspect vehicle. It is possibly a mid-90’s Chevrolet S-10 or GMC S-15 tan, gold or gray in color. The vehicle may have damage to the front.
