Fiscal Court approves bids, to send reps to heavy equipment auction in Alabama

The Grayson County Fiscal Court approved several bids for services for the new fiscal year at Friday morning’s meeting.

The Future Designs bid for road tile was accepted and approved, while Scotty’s bid for stone to be used to re-gravel rural secondary roads was approved. Scotty’s offered the only bid for asphalt/blacktop work, a bid which was approved by the Court. The county’s diesel and gas needs for the next fiscal year will be supplied by Key Oil Company.

Fiscal Court additionally agreed to finance the purchase of ribbons and awards for the Grayson County High School FFA for the annual Agriculture Fair.

Fiscal Court members approved a contract for $220,000.00 for highway and roadside beautification from the Kentucky Transportation Department.

The Court also re-appointed Randall Decker as a Board Member of the Anneta Fire Department.

After meeting in Executive Session for approximately half-an-hour to discuss possible litigation -- in which no official action was taken -- Fiscal Court agreed to send “two or three” Court members to a Department of Transportation absolute auction in Montgomery, Alabama. According the Judge Executive Gary Logsdon, there will be high quality used heavy equipment – John Deere tractors, dump trucks, mowers, etc – available to bid on.

The Court agreed to cap spending on the trip at $100,000.00
