Two former Lincoln Village Juvenile Detention Center staffers charged in connection with the death of a 16-year-old girl have agreed to a plea deal.

Reginald Windham and Victor Holt pled guilty Wednesday to official misconduct.

They were accused of falsifying documents and failing to supervise Gynnya McMillen after she was lodged in the now-closed detention facility in Elizabethtown.

McMillen died on January 11, 2016, about 24 hours after she was taken to the ground by staffers using an "aikido restraint," and held there for four minutes as a pat down was conducted upon her arrival at the facility from Bardstown. Staff said the restraint was used because McMillen refused to take off a hooded sweatshirt.

A Kentucky Justice and Public Safety Cabinet investigation found that the facility’s staff failed to provide adequate supervision, falsified documents and acted unprofessionally.

Doctors with the Mayo Clinic determined McMillen died from a rare condition called Inherited Long QT Syndrome, a genetic disorder that can cause cardiac arrhythmia, also known as an irregular heartbeat.

As part of the plea deal, Windham and Holt agreed to pay a $200,000 fine and court costs.
