At Thursday night’s meeting, the Grayson County School Board approved bids for the district’s fuel, as well as bus parts and supplies needs for the 2014-2015 school year. The Board also agreed to extend the food, supplies and chemical bids for the new fiscal year, “per extension clause in the 2012-2013 bid.”
The Board also agreed to apply for an Innovative Approaches to Literacy Federal Grant for “approximately $700,000.00. The grant money is aimed at helping to improve reading skills in grades K through 12. If the grant is awarded, it will provide the district a Technology Integration Specialist, a Literacy Specialist, and books for school libraries, among other benefits.
The Board also recognized newly named principals, Erika DeVore (Clarkson) and Jonathan Wiliams (Wilkey).
