Glenda Ann “Parker” Preston, 67, of Caneyville passed away Sunday, July 2, 2017 at her home in Caneyville.
She was born on Friday, June 2, 1950 in Alabama, the daughter of the late Ernest and Kathleen (Sanford) Parker. She was a member of the Wilson United Baptist Church. Glenda had worked with Dr. Bob McClure’s office, Spring View Nursing and Rehab. She had received her CNA and worked as a Medical Administration Assistant. During the last part of her life, Glenda along with her late husband, Burl Preston, was involved in the community alliance which she was very proud of. Her main hobby was playing Bingo in Millwood.
She is survived by her eight children, Melinda Pharris (Gary), Janie Gipson, Vonnie Decker (Ray), Faye Stewart (Donnie), Kaye Daley (Mike) and James Emmitt Preston all of Caneyville, George Owen Preston of Maryland and Kathy Knickelbein (Tom) of Wisconsin; two brothers, Dewey Parker of West Liberty and Eugene Parker of Glasgow. Fourteen grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren also survive. Other than her parents, Glenda is preceded in death by her husband Burl and one sister, Ernestine Parker.
Funeral services will be Thursday, July 6, 2017 at 1:00 at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville. Bro. Mickey Coates will be officiating. Burial will be in the Wilson Cemetery.
Friends may call the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville Wednesday after 3:00 p.m. and from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday.
