(Leitchfield, KY)-A man attempted to hide under a car after he was involved in chase with the Grayson County Sheriff’s Department.  The hiding place was not successful for the man, who ended up with multiple charges and lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.

Sheriff’s Deputy Robert Jackson attempted to make a routine traffic stop when 28-year-old Charles Clemons (Leitchfield) did not pull over for approximately 10 blocks, according to Grayson County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Tony Willen.  Clemons stopped his vehicle at the South Gate Mall and evaded police on foot.  Willen said Clemons ran to the rear of the building and climbed under a vehicle in an attempt to conceal himself from officers.

Deputy Jackson searched Clemons’ vehicle and found components consistent with the manufacturing of meth.

Clemons was arrested and charged with Fleeing or Evading Police, 2nd Degree (motor vehicle), Fleeing or Evading Police, 2nd Degree (on foot), Criminal Mischief, 3rd Degree, Driving DUI Suspended License, 1st Offense, Drug Paraphernalia-Buy/Possession 2nd or Offense,  Prescription Content Substance Not In Original Container, 1st Offense, Manufacturing Methamphetamine, 1st Offense.
