(Leitchfield, KY) – A Leitchfield woman was been arrested and charged with theft after stealing from charitable collection bins in Leitchfield.
The charges originated from a complaint made by Ohio Mills Corporation, a company who operates charitable collection bins in which a portion of the proceeds are distributed to Kentucky Special Olympics. The company stated that collections had been down in the Leitchfield area and requested that extra patrol be performed around the bins due to suspicions of theft.
On April 28, 2013, the Leitchfield Police Department observed Theresa Cipolla (53) removing items from collection bins and placing them in her vehicle for personal gain.
Cipolla was arrested and charged with Theft by Unlawful Taking.
The investigation is ongoing and additional suspects and charges may be pending.
Trying to a fake an excused absence left a Falls of Rough mother arrested and charged by the Leitchfield Police Department.
Leitchfield Police Detective Kevin Smith said Janice Lynn Ardt, (34) was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument, 3rd Degree after she presented a document on March 5, 2013, to Grayson County School Officials in order to obtain an excused absence for her juvenile child.
An investigation revealed that the document was fraudulent.
