(Leitchfield, KY) – Multiple accidents Wednesday night kept the Grayson County Sheriff’s Department busy.

Just before 8:00 p.m., Carl Kinley (31) of Falls of Rough was traveling east on Cave Creek Road when his front tire blew out.  He lost control of the 1995 Mercury Tracer and struck a tree head-on.

Kinley was treated at the scene and transported to an area hospital by Grayson County EMS.  He complained of his chest area and right elbow hurting, according to Detective Terry Blanton.

Almost three hours later, Blanton was called to the 106mm of the Western Kentucky Parkway where a pedestrian had been struck by a car.

Blanton reported David Basham (47) of Owensboro, KY, had pulled his vehicle into the emergency lane and exited the car to ensure the back doors were shut.  Basham said when he went to get back inside the car he was struck by oncoming traffic.  He said it was a red Chevrolet Camero that sideswiped him with the side of the car.  The driver of the Camero did not stop.

Basham called E-911 and drove himself to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  Grayson County EMS treated him at the scene of the accident.
