Leitchfield, KY -- Mary Lois Decker Cannon Brown, age 86, of Hardinsburg, KY, passed away Tuesday, (August 20, 2013) at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield KY.
She was born on January 7, 1927 in Grayson Co, KY, the daughter of the late Lester and Rollie Carter Decker.
She was a housewife, who enjoyed quilting and painting. She was a member of the Broadway Missionary Baptist Church in Leitchfield.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Lou Carmon (Pete) of Olaton KY, and Georgia Williams (Fairley) of Leitchfield, five sons, Hulen Cannon (Mary), and Harry Cannon (Rita) both of Leitchfield, Jerry Cannon (Diane) of Horse Branch, KY, Felix Cannon (Jill) of Indiana and Ricky Joe Cannon of Hardinsburg, a sister, Myrtle Fields, of Leitchfield, 27 grandchildren and several great and great-great grandchildren.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Morton Brown, two children, Hillard Cannon and Nell Shartzer, a granddaughter, Maryann Veach, and five brothers and sisters, Ollie Ray, Herman and Orval Eugene Decker, Stella Elizabeth Allen and Flora Mae Smith.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, (August 23, 2013) at the Broadway Missionary Baptist Church in Leitchfield. Bro. William Dodson will be officiating. Burial will be in the Yeaman Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday and at Broadway Church from 9:00 a.m. Friday until time of services.
