VILLA HILLS, Ky. (AP) — A northern Kentucky mayor is seeking the dismissal of the town's police chief.
The Kentucky Enquirer (http://cin.ci/1dUfCwW) reports Villa Hills Mayor Mike Martin filed a complaint with the City Council Wednesday night against Police Chief Dan Goodenough. According to the written complaint, allegations include that Goodenough has failed "to oversee, supervise, cooperate, respond, follow direction and behave in a professional manner..."
Goodenough's attorney Randy Freking, says the allegations "don't appear to have any merit whatsoever." He called the move to fire his client "part of a political witch-hunt."
Goodenough was suspended on March 5 without pay.
The mayor says he wants the City Council to hold a hearing on the matter, but Freking says the Villa Hills Civil Service Commission should decide the matter.
