LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — An Ohio River bridge that connects Louisville to southern Indiana will close for six weeks on Tuesday.
The George Rogers Clark Memorial Bridge, also known as the Second Street bridge, will close to traffic for construction in connection with the ongoing river bridge project.
The bridge will close to vehicular, bike and foot traffic. Transportation officials say tt's expected to be closed for just over six weeks to complete work on the Indiana approach to the bridge.
Officials in Louisville and Jeffersonville, Indiana, are scheduled to hold a press conference to discuss the shutdown on Monday at the Clark-Floyd Counties Convention and Tourism Bureau near the bridge on the Indiana side.
