(Falls of Rough, KY) – Kentucky State Police are investigating a break-in that occurred just before midnight Tuesday.

Trooper Davey Norris said the perpetrators made off with an undisclosed amount of cash and a large quantity of cigarettes.  Nothing more seemed to be taken at first glance Wednesday morning when he arrived to Robby’s Quick Stop, according to Norris.

When employees arrived to work around 5:00 a.m. they called central dispatch to report the crime.

Norris did not disclose how the perpetrator made entry but did hint that they must be a thinner sized person.  Norris said only one person entered the store but there could have been others outside of the store.

The perpetrator attempted to destroy a black box looking machine they thought to house the video recorded footage.  Instead the theft destroyed a machine that helps operate the gas pumps and the video footage was found intact.  That footage is being viewed at this time and the situation is under investigation.  If you have any information about the break-in, you are asked to call 1-800-555-2222.
