(Leitchfield, KY) - The pinwheel is a nationwide symbol to raise awareness about child abuse and neglect prevention. Chosen to represent hope and promise, it depicts the belief that every child deserves to be raised in a healthy, safe and nurturing environment. Grayson County took on the Pinwheels for Prevention campaign as area students planted a colorful garden of blue and silver pinwheels outside the Judicial Center. Judge-Executive Gary Logsdon signed a proclamation for the event and Judge Shan Embry spoke to students from all schools. The goal of the campaign is to encourage individuals and organizations to join together in raising public awareness of child abuse and its prevention. Pinwheel gardens have popped up in many locations throughout the county.
