Recent changes in the laws that regulate the purchase of restricted use pesticides have prompted the need for training in Grayson County. In order to purchase restricted use pesticides, or to use any pesticide in production agriculture, you must have attended private applicator training and obtained a pesticide card. Any person growing fruits and vegetables, etc. for sale and using a non-restricted pesticide, such as Sevin, is required to obtain a pesticide card. This requirement is for the protection of the producer and the consumer.
Due to these changes, there will be a Private Pesticide Applicator Training held at the Grayson County Extension Office Meeting Facility on February 10th at 12:00 noon. After completing the training and paying the $2.00 fee, you will receive a new pesticide card which is valid for 3 years.
Please call the Extension Office at 259-3492 to register for this training. We request that you park in the rear of the building, and enter the Extension facility by the West Side Rear Entrance.
