(Leitchfield, KY)-A Leitchfield man was flown by air ambulance Tuesday morning to a Louisville hospital after a three car accident on KY Hwy 54.

The collision occurred at 6:00 a.m. when a 1994 Dodge Ram pickup, operated by James Downs (New Haven, KY) was traveling westbound and collided with a 1990 Honda, driven by David Parker, Jr (Leitchfield, KY) who was traveling eastbound.  Down’s pickup made an abrupt left trun into the path of Parker’s car.  Parker attempted to avoid the crash but was unable.

A third vehicle, driven by Tami Salmon (Falls of Rough, KY) was also traveling eastbound and was unable to avoid striking Parker’s car in the rear end.

Parker and a passenger in Down’s vehicle were transported to an area hospital.  Parker was later flown to University of Louisville by Air Methods.

No charges are expected to be filed. The investigation is ongoing by Trooper David Norris with the Kentucky State Police. Grayson County Sheriff’s office, Leitchfield Fire Department, and Grayson County EMS assisted at the scene.
