(Leitchfield, KY) – Two injury accidents this week have left both drivers cited to court.
A lake visitor from Fisherville, KY, Joseph C. Harrod (18) was arrested and charged with DUI by the Grayson County Sheriff’s Department after causing a head-on collision on the WK Parkway Sunday, June 16, 2013.
The accident happened around 3:30 a.m. in the westbound lanes of the WK Parkway.
Leilani A. Owens of Chesapeake, VA, said she was traveling west when she was hit head-on by a 2009 Toyota Camry driven by Harrod.
Owens and her passenger were transported to the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.
Harrod admitted he had been to the lake and had been drinking alcohol. He refused treatment on the scene but was taken to the hospital for medical clearance and a blood test, which is pending.
Harrod was charged with DUI, under 21.
An accident on the WK Parkway Monday is being blamed on hydroplaning from rainwater.
The Grayson County Sheriff’s Department said the accident happened at the 109 mm in the westbound lanes, just after 6:00 p.m.
The Leitchfield Fire Department extricated two women, Melissa Board (Leitchfield) and Sandra Basham (Leitchfield), from a 1998 Chevrolet Small Conventional Cab 4X.
The Chevrolet had hydroplaned and overturned.
The two women were taken to the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries.
Bogard was cited to court for Operating on a Suspended/Revoked License.
