K105 reported earlier in the week that there was a problem at the new Aquatic Center pertaining to one of the water holding tanks overflowing during a "test run" on Tuesday morning -- Three minutes into a five minute cycle test, water flowed up through drains in the pump station room, something that isn't supposed to happen.
K105 has just heard from Leitchfield Tourism Director Ilsa Johnson, who is spearheading the oversight of construction of the Aquatic Center. Johnson said, "As of now, everything is good." But, there is a final inspection scheduled for tomorrow.
That inspection will be the determining factor in whether the Aquatic Center and its employees are put through their paces at a soft opening tomorrow night from 5:00 until 8:00, and then open to the public at 10:30 on Saturday.
K105 will provide additional information as it becomes available.
