The Grayson Co. Library is hosting One Planet, One Moon, One Night on Saturday, Oct. 20th from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.  At 6 p.m. enjoy moos tales from around the world and other activities in the community room.  At 7 p.m. there will be an informative and interactive presentation about our closest cosmic neighbor, the Moon.  Presentation by Ronn Kistler from Hardin Planetarium at WKU.  7:30 you will move outside to observe the Moon and enjoy a night of…

Scare on the Square

The Annual Scare on the Square will take place this Saturday from 4 – 8:30 p.m.  Lots of events scheduled.  $1 entry fee, $5 entry fee for costume contest.  All proceeds benefit Grayson County Alliance Food Pantry

The Grayson Co. 4-H Shooting Sports will hold a trap shoot fundraiser on Saturday, Oct. 20th at the Grayson Co. Agriculture &Recreation Park at 10:00 a.m.  There will be a 25 Bird Race (must pre-register by calling (270) 259-3492 and there is a $50 fee), bucket shoots, and concessions.  Winner of the Bird Race will receive a 12 Gauge BT-99 Browning Shotgun.  This event is open to the public. Breast Cancer Awareness Event

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the Grayson County Health Department will be offering free self-breast exam training hosted by our clinic Nurse Practitioner, Kristen Buck. Please come out and join them for this special event. They will also have a photo booth and a limited supply of free giveaways. There will also be an opportunity to sign the pink firetruck!

Alzheimer’s Awareness Class at Clarkson City Hall

The Grayson Co. Family and Consumer Science Extension will host an Alzheimer’s awareness educational program on Tuesday, Oct. 16th at 10:00 a.m and again at 6:00 p.m. at Clarkson City Hall.  If you or someone you know if affected by Alzheimer’s disease or dementia, it’s time to learn the facts.  This program provides information on detection, causes and risk factors, stages of the disease, treatment, and much more.
