The Grayson County High School has come a step closer to having a new athletic facility built on their campus. The school board approved a contract with Henson Construction during their meeting Thursday night. Superintendent Anderson said the next step is to submit the plans to the state and await approval.
School District CFO Kerry White said the bond sale for the new Clarkson Elementary School “went very well” and the rate was “excellent” at 4.319%. White said the bond closing will be on April, 21st. There will be a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Clarkson Elementary School on Friday, April 24th at Noon.
In a closed session of the school board, Superintendent Anderson said the board agreed to terminate a classified employee. The employee’s name or reasons for their termination were not given when the board came back into open session.
The Grayson County Schools’ District Facility Planning Board will hold a public forum on Monday, April 27th at the middle school at 5:30pm. The board appointed Butch Canty from the Kentucky School Boards Association as the Hearing Officer for the planning board during their planning process. There will be a special called meeting of the school board following the public hearing.
