(Leitchfield, KY)-Heavy rains fell Wednesday afternoon as two men seriously injured in an accident.
Two SUV’s struck at the intersection of the William Thomason Byway and Salt River Road in Leitchfield just after 5:00pm. The Leitchfield Fire Department was dispatched to the scene of the accident to extract Alfred O Fout (86 of Big Clifty, KY) from his 2000 Toyota Tacoma that was turned on the driver’s side against the guardrail.
Leitchfield Police Officer Brandon Brooks said Fout was traveling north on the byway when he pulled into the left turning land to make a right hand turn. Fout’s Toyota was struck in the right side by a 2000 Dodge Durango driven by Samuel Stallings III (32 of Cecilia, KY). Stallins was also traveling north on the byway.
Stallings Dodge came to a rest facing east bound and he was transported by Grayson County EMS to an area hospital with injuries to his entire body, according to Officer Brooks. Stallings was wearing his seatbelt.
Fout was also restrained by his seatbelt and suffered arm and head injuries, according to Brooks. Both patients were later flown by LifeNet to a Louisville hospital.
