Caneyville Commissioners are offering a group, individual or businesses the opportunity to sponsor one of the new Welcome to Caneyville signs. The sponsorship will allow the sponsor to place their sign under the welcome sign for a fee of $100 per year plus whatever setup fees are involved.
The city now has a new policy in place that will require all new water connections to be inspected by the Grayson County inspector. The commissioners said there would be no exemptions made for farms.
City Treasurer Brenda Brown informed the commissioners that the city had received their Safety Grant check for $824.98 from the Kentucky League of Cities. The grant is a matching grant for the city and the funds were used to purchase safety vests and safety cones. Caneyville Police Chief Anthony Clark informed the commissioners that he had recently received the new radar gun the city ordered.
In other city business:
The commissioners accepted the 1st reading of a revised Nuisance Ordinance, the 1st ready of the 2008-09 Amended Budget Ordinance and the 1st reading of the 1009-10 Budget Ordinance.
The commissioners accepted a quote from Brenntag for chemicals for the 2009-10 fiscal year. A quote from Leitchfield Laboratory for performing analysis for the next two years was also accepted. They also accepted a quote from Construction Site Services for single setters, tandum setters and meter boxes and lids.
