The water levels of the Beville Park Lake have the city council concerned. The considered having the Leitchfield Fire Department divers attempt to repair the leak but the problem is larger than first thought. Mayor William Thomason said he looked into the cost of having the leak repaired and it could be as high as $60,000. He said he is concerned the fire department will not be able to fill their pumper trucks if the water levels continue to decrease. The council took no action during their meeting last night.
The Leitchfield Fire Department will be intentionally setting fire to a house at 627 White Street on Saturday, October 10, 2009. The home was donated by Mark Cook and Norbert Hayes with the South Gate Mall. The burning home will be used for training purposes for the department.
