Sheriff Rick Clemons said he was patrolling in the area of Ranchero Road in the Wax area when he pulled into the home of Kenny Skaggs. Clemons said Skaggs met him at his vehicle and inquired why he was at his home. Clemons said he was just in the neighborhood. Clemons said when he stepped upon the carport of the home the smell of what seemed to be chemicals associated with meth overwhelmed him.
Clemons said he asked Skaggs if he could enter his home at which time Skaggs admitted to having a meth lab inside.
The lab was disassembled by Detective Terry Blanton. Clemons said the department was able to use their new pull-behind trailer that was purchased to carry equipment for meth lab cleanups. Clemons said the trailer was bought with grant money that is funded from seized drug money throughout the state of Kentucky.
Skaggs was arrested and charged with Manufacturing Meth and lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.
