Guthrie spent about 10 minutes talking about the issue of the day, as he called it, the $16 trillion debt of the Nation.
Guthrie said, “The crisis is coming,” speaking of the 21,000,000 baby-boomers that will sign up for retirement in the next 16 years. He said, “It’s not a manufacturing crisis (which is what President Obama called the crisis during his STOU address last week); we’re in it (crisis).”
Guthrie said he didn’t feel President Obama is going to address the debt crisis over the next four years but the Republican led House of Representatives feels it’s the problem of “our time.”
Guthrie goes on to talk about the Debt Limit, the upcoming Sequester, the Fiscal Cliff, and the cuts that are being made as a result of these issues.
