Clarkson Elementary takes Community Service personally
Students at the school raised over $3,000 in February for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Pennies for Patients program.  The BETA club took collections each day, hanging paper pennies with students’ names on them in the cafeteria, to represent each dollar donated.  The school bested its goal by more than $1,000.  Two Clarkson students have battled Leukemia, 4th grader Mason VanMeter and kindergarten student, Aidan Harris, so the project was personal to everyone at the school.  Teresa Langley’s 4th grade class donated the most funds to the project and proudly displays the ceremonial check during a morning assembly with the entire school.
